I was kind of hoping they could throw some money at him and give him an Assistant Head Coach title and keep him interested.  He still has some red flags as a HC so we'll see.

as the say... winning cures all, if he can keep this D playing at a high level, somebody will lure him away, but since I've posted the same sentiment many times, I have to agree with you that they at least need to make it not about the money for him.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

If he does leave, Vikings should try to find a way to keep his defense. Maybe promote an assistant.

Or what about trying to get Saleh to bring his talents to Minny?

I still think the elephant in the room is the outstanding litigation...

Wilfs are different from other owners and could look past that for a DC.

HC is a different deal all together.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I don't foresee any owner trusting him or hiring him as a HC any time in the near future. He has open lawsuits. Owners don't like that and whether you like it or not, they run the NFL. I don't believe he will ever get a chance again.

He said it would have to be the right opportunity. The story also mentions how much he and his family love Minnesota. He's 'having the time of his life'....it has value.

Saleh is great. I'm just not a fan of having to onboard a new defense. I think we have certain players (Metellus, Cashman) who are probably JAGs (just a guy) in another defense.

I understand the 'old boys club' and open lawsuit issues. But I think he will be a head coach next year.
He's an innovator and those don't come along that often.
But it might be in a college program.

One thing that would support your point is there doesn't seem to be a ton of buzzy HC names out there this offseason.

Belichick. Johnson in DET. Maybe Kellen Moore finally gets a chance since the Eagles are humming. But what Flo has done here is impressive. I know young OC's are the fad but I tend to agree that someone will give him a shot. Even if it pisses off 31 other owners.

Lastly, I remember when Tomlin got hired away thinking, uh-oh, we shouldn't have let that happen. I forget if it was Chili or Leslie who was coach at the time but it seemed kind of obvious that keeping Tomlin around--although very young-- would have been better than the person we currently had at HC. Of course, our HC (again sorry I forget which bozo it was), got canned the following year and Tomlin's been in PIT ever since.

THIS TIME, if Flores gets away, it'll be a bummer. But KO is great so it won't sting nearly as much. I like where the Vikings are at with KAM and KO running things. I just wish Kwesi could draft!

I trend toward this. But there are some maverick owners like Davis in Las Vegas that might not care. But I don't think Flores would want to go there. He may even get some interviews from a minority interview standpoint but I don't see him being hired as a HC this offseason.

Kwesi needs to draft better for the long term interests of this team. KOC is a great offensive mind, but if he still had Donnatel their record would be 2-7 instead of 7-2. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if Flores was HC and KOC was OC!

The coaching is actually very good in my mind. They seem to be getting the most out of what Kwesi has given them.

The one thing that worries me is the philosophy of not building from the lines out. Seems most championship quality teams have very solid lines on both sides of the ball.
Darnold played better early in the season but he had better protection in those early games. Of course Darnold doesn't seem to see the receiver coming open and is often late with his throws and ends up holding the ball too long.
Perhaps a little more dink and dunk with TJ back, will open up the longer throws.
Darnold isn't terrible, but he needs a good defense to win games.
So hopefully we can keep Flores around for next year when we have a new young developing QB with a lot of potential.

I don't think Flo is HC material.
