Sure looks that way now. As you say, it's early, but at the very least we can say that Caleb Williams boom or bust needle is leaning a little more into the bust, while Daniels isn't just the best rookie QB, he's one of the better QBs in the NFL.

Sounds familiar, like a QB from a team in Texas last year. Daniels sure looks the part for now. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Early results say I’m glad the Bears didn’t go that way.

Caleb Williams is ass. I've had him on my fantasy team all year but I'm dumping him Wednesday

He just runs around in circles until he gets sacked or throws a pass that's way off target.  I'd put some of it on the Bears general ineptitude, but plenty on him as well.  He really isn't very accurate.    What worked in college doesn't work in the NFL and the team doesn't seem to be prepping him or teaching him or giving him a framework in which to be successful.   That and/or he's ignoring coaching in favor of trying to play hero ball on every down.  Also a thing that doesn't work in the NFL.

Not that Bears failures bother me...

His line is awful and I wasn’t seeing his receivers open. Too early to call.

It’s why I wanted him above all others.

It was a weird week in the NFL. Vikings replacement holder and kicker responsible for all their points, the tanking Saints beat the Falcons, Daniels wasn't very good, Caleb was worse, Broncos and Bo Nix outplayed the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, Bryce Young wasn't ass and Jared Goff threw 5 picks in a game where both he and Stroud were crap.

Probably, but zero doubt it should NOT have been Caleb Williams.

All the rookies playing are having fairly typical rookie seasons. All have shown the ability to stick in the league.

Jayden Daniels: playing well, doesn’t make many mistakes which puts him above the rest. He’s everything I expected him to be when I scouted all of them and considered him the cream of the crop. Looks like a franchise QB.

Caleb Williams: streaky but shows why he was a top pick. 3 terrible games in a row after three great ones. On the question marks that were there coming out like dealing with pressure - they are still there. I haven’t gotten a ton of time watching all of them, but he’s probably on the low end of the rest thus far.

Bo Nix: much like Caleb there are highs and lows. He arguably has the most difficult situation of all of them having to deal with Payton and his offense (8th in attempts is no easy task for a rookie), but he seems to be adapting fine after a brutal (to be expected) September.
He has thrown 9 tds to 2 int’s since start of October.

Drake Maye: had a little time before getting thrown into the fire and has adapted ok. I’ve seen him the least, but from what I have had a chance to watch he’s a plus running the ball as expected.

Penix: no action with none expected. Should be good when it’s time
JJM: would be starting Viking QB if he had not been injured and likely performing at a high level with the Vikings excellent offense. It really sucks he’s lost for the year.

I didnt have Daniels as my #1, its not that he didnt show a lot of talent, but I question his frames ability to play a long time in this league. Investing a #1 overall pick is a career breaker for some GMs and I wouldnt have felt comfortable with my future if it was tied to a guy likely to have a career threatening/altering injury in the first few years.

I thought Caleb Williams is a mental pussy ( and still do ) I dont think he has the ability to let a bad play ( game ) go quick enough to really survive at this level.

I like Nix for his career trajectory, Penix for his moxie ( up until the NCG ), and JJM for his upside.

Never wanted anything to do with Maye.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Well, not sure that throwing for only 126 yards on 25 attempts is a big accomplishment for Young, but he got a W after Danny Dimes threw 2 picks. The NFL is always good for some intrigue week to week. I'll say this: lots of teams are banged up this year.
