Colts @ Vikings
Game opened with the Vikings at -6 but since the Colts benched Richardson it's moved a couple points closer. That's Viking luck for ya. Get the Rams on the first day back for both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp and get the Colts right after they give up on AR.
Dealing with?
I’m watching the Peacock broadcast and listening to PA on the radio.
BTW, WTF is Darnold thinking? Throw the ball and stop waiting to get sacked!

Hes got something going on with his right hammy or quad. Wrapping it and adding heat when not on the field.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Defense won the game. Sure were a lot of doubters and I was one of them when the offense was sputtering around. This team may not be as good as I thought they were, but they sure have the talent and potential to beat any team. Pretty good coaching in this game.
I also want to give a big shout out to our new left tackle. Very nice job.
Still pissed about that td when Darnold got hit in the face. Kudos to the defense. Turner made some nice plays. Jefferson and Addison made plays. I liked using both Akers and Jones. Lord have mercy Darnold had some rough moments. The first half was brutal
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it. — Robin Williams
It feels like the absence of Cashman is a pretty big issue. He had the green dot and was our leading tackler. Haven’t heard anything substantial on when he’ll be back.
As far as the offense goes, the sputtering going on is maddening. We played some damn good defenses during the win streak and handled them. What changed? We even got TJ back now. Darnold threw 2 atrocious INTs. He is seeing some ghosts now. I hate his give up throws at the feet of the nearest receiver when he’s escaping pressure.
I’m certainly not checking out on the season but I can definitely say I’m looking forward to 2025 and JJ as our QB.

This. IMO, this was the most important game of the year so far and the Vikings won it in convincing fashion. Vikings offense played well. 415 yards and a ridiculous 29 1st downs. Darnold was 28 of 34 and threw 3 TDs. He had his share of boneheadeds, but they were largely inconsequential because the defense showed up big.
48 yards for Taylor (his season low)
6 points (season low for the Colts)
0 red zone drives (season low)
13 first downs (season low)
227 yards (season low)
-0.35 EPA/play (season low)
2 turnovers
4/13 on 3rd + 4th down
4.6 yards/play
23:06 time of possession
I know some were wanting to see the Vikings play well after the opening script. That narrative was reversed in this one.
Reichard is a huge loss if he's out for a bit. Just like Darrisaw and Cashman have been.
Regarding Cashman, hopefully he'll be back soon. I have absolutely nothing to base this claim off other than what I know in my heart to be true, but the Vikings gotta be tops in the league for Not Putting A Guy On IR, And Having Him Miss 4+ Weeks Anyway.
As for last night's game-- The first half was so weird. We looked great one minute and like sludge the next. A better team would have been up at least 10 on us at half I think. Thankfully, in the second half they played better and the defense really locked things down. Even against a hypothetical better team, we played well enough in the second half to be competitive with anyone last night I'd say. Very impressive by the defense and a huge confidence booster after a rough couple outings.
Aaron Jones- Disagree that he looks old. He was running into a lotta brick walls last night. Akers is faster and provides a nice spark but Jones is much better overall to my eyes. His pass catch and run on 3rd and long last night was an awesome play. The thing this team hasn't been able to do for years is line up on 1st and Goal from the 4 and just run the ball in. Why that is I'm not sure but it's hardly unique to Jones.
Addison- I was calling for more of him and we got it. He's really good! Seems silly not to use him. Been saying the same about Josh Olliver for two years too! Nice game my dude!! Hockenson it was great to see out there. Hopefully he is feeling alright this morning. With the interior OL issues we're having, some two tight end run game might be in our near future.
Hope Reichard injury isnt too serious
Nice to see TJH back.
Addison showed when he's targeted and motivated he's a really good #2 guy.
#90 for the Colts was in the backfield, in Sam's face all night and Jones had no where to go
So Akers has replaced Chandler as #2 on the depth chart? Vikings should just stick to FA and quit drafting ;) Akers/Jones is a good combo. I expect Akers to get more carries the 2nd half of the season.
Darnold, will Darnold at least once a game. Not sure what his ceiling would be if he played here and in the same system for a few years? We wont ever know
6/2 is great and they have a chance to pad it some. Jax wont be easy, Philly beat em, but just by 5. Watch out for the Eagles, they are getting warmed up.
I was going to complain about the D till I realized they held another NFL team to so few pts. Lack of pass rush will haunt us the rest of the season.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

You must not play fantasy, because that shit happens all the time. It sounded to me like Cashman was close to returning for this game, so unless he has a setback, I'm guessing he'll go against the Jags. Turf toe has to be right up there with hammy as one of the most frustrating and lingering injuries in sports.

Akers is happiest running outside zone, where they just run Jones behind the OG's and Bradbury it seems. Akers is a little more fluid, and I thought he saw more holes running than Jones did.
I think they are a good combo and I was happy to have Akers back...

Well.....I guess it's finally put to rest about Darnold. He's always going to have certain tendencies. So glad we got McCarthy, especially after watching college ball yesterday and the crew that's upcoming in next year's Draft. Hate to see Will the Thrill have a game like that, time to get his hair cut. I've noticed that even his makes were leaning toward the right part of the upright.
Don't have the best taste in my mouth after this win, it definitely wasn't as close as the final score. But its a W. Defense improved in play, no doubt.

Unless Chandler has an injury, Akers has replaced him at RB2.
Not too surprised, KOC has always liked Akers a lot. Chandler is coming up short in his game, not sure exactly where though.

One adjustment Flores made and one that was brought up in the broadcast was shifting Van Ginkel to an inside backer position on passing downs allowing Dallas Turner to get some more looks and he made some plays. I'd like to continue to see more of this as the year goes on and less Jihad Ward stealing snaps. Turner is the future and unless he is totally lost, play the kid
We need a center. Embarrassing

Best game of Dallas Turner's NFL career last night. 26 snaps, nearly matching his total from the previous four games combined. 4 pressures, 1 QB hit, 1 run stop, 71.3 PFF grade. Encouraging stuff from the 21-year-old rookie.
I dont remember the exact play, but there was one snap last night where he got off the ball so FN fast I about spilled my drink, I think that was the quickest I have ever seen any DE/OLB get into the backfield.... I believe my exact words were Ho Lee Phuk

Yep, just read he's injured. It bothered him all week and then he made it worse kicking last night.
