Feels like Flores is in his ear where the offense is concerned. Defensive coaches are risk-averse. They like slow, methodical low risk offenses that have less of a chance of flipping the field for the other team with mistakes.
Problem is, this is turning into a “3 yards and a cloud of dust” offense without a real running game.

Kyler has to play better, and I think he will with Jefferson on the field. The running game has to improve, and should with the return of Darrisaw and Mason. But at some point we may have to realize that this is kinda what run-and-play-defense football looks like. It's hard to lose if you dominate TOP, run twice as many plays as your opponent, and don't turn the ball over.

Defense, special teams , win turnover battle and take less penalties is a recipe that works.
It's not not sexy and it's hard to repeat every game.
4 weeks in and that's exactly what's happening.
O'Connell is 32-4 when his team is only EVEN in the turnovers.
First, that's UN #ucking believable and almost unreal.
Second, it also neatly clears up the Viking coaching staff sucks ass argument.
With their schedule, the Vikings have as good a shot at the #1 playoff seed as anyone.
After koc and Murray figure it out, more people will start to notice, the Vikings are legit

It's the hidden message behind their commentary all the time when voicing their opinions. I actually like McAfee. He speaks his mind and it's refreshing, but to each his own. We don't get enough of people who aren't afraid to be themselves and not succumb to the idiocy throughout the media.
Will his schtick get old after a decade or so? For some, it already has, but he's not trying to please everyone. What will never get old for me is someone who just lets it rip, good, bad, indifferent. No one should agree with everything someone says anyway.
I also love what he and Saban have done for College Gameday...not everyone agrees...see statement above.
