JJ opted for the full surgery for his meniscus tear. Definitely the better option for the post career life. The trim option would have had him back in less than a month. Well the extremes of both sides are the problem: ridiculous character assassination or absolving him of any responsibility. Both bad. But its a messageboard with fans so it is what it is. At some point, either sooner or later, JJM won't be on this team and maybe we'll all focus on other things.

He's not on IR, on the 53...Nothing released regarding something more serious like a high ankle sprain or a higher grade sprain.
It is possible to be a multi-week injury, but I would expect him to be available wk1.

Look, I'm not much of a conspiracy guy, but this is getting ridiculous. I don't know what to believe. Could the Vikings just be playing a waiting game? Waiting for that QB to go down in week one or two to prompt a trade?

Who's going to trade for a QB that is currently QB3 to be replace a starter via injury? I just don't think there's much of a market for JJ regardless.

I think it was simply injury prevention and dialing down the narratives. Regardless of how he played it wouldn’t be good enough for the Minny media unless he threw like 5 TD’s. It wasn’t worth it.
