Damn it. CJ Carr.

It's unusual to have so many 2nd round QBs. I think I counted 5 between 27 and 41 on Brugler's list.
If Murray has a good year and we extend him, I'd like to see us take a QB on day two. If Murray fails, then it's pretty obviously a 1st round need.

Favre
Brees
The Snake
Boomer
R. Cunningham
D. Carr
All 2nd rounders....I really (really) hope we're not in the mkt for one in Rd1.
Either because K1 did so well and/or #9 kept it on the rails.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I THINK this is purely a ranking on prospects not potential draft position. If that makes sense.

Watching USC, in 4K no less, to get a peek at Jayden Maivav. Been mostly positive. Size, arm strength, seems to deliver in rhythm. San Jose State isn’t much of a challenge so not too much to glean from the stats but an opportunity to see him live.
Damn it!

He really looks the part. Started getting excited about him the last half of the 25 season.

Sorry purple bros....
Its still early, but the ship seems to be sailing more in this direction then the other way...
In spite of that, I'm still working to keep my little JJM candles flame going.

Chicks, and KO, love the deep ball.
One of several Day 2 guys. Just classic size. Not sure SJS is going to mount enough rush to ever move him off his spot. Ran for I think 6 scores last year, but I don’t think his legs are a a weapon.
One documented negative that I’ve already seen is the tendency to lock on to his first read, which almost lead to a pick 6. Hard to determine when locking on vs being patient for a route to open up. I think I’ve seen samples of both. I think.

He needs to step up vs the big name teams. With a different last name, the hype dies down.

Digging into Maivav stats a bit, he definitely likes home cooking. Completes nearly 17% less on the road vs home. Worse statistical games came against biggest opponents. Big drop off in production. Does he step up this year vs big time opponents? Worth watching when USC isn’t playing vs 0, 1, and 2 star athletes.
Most of this game has been basically a 7 on 7 drill. Pretty much every throw was his first read in Lincoln Riley’s offense. Delivered decisively with pace and a solid foundation. No bouncy feet. The one time he got off his first read he scanned left to right to find his TE on the backside. Probably his most pro caliber throw of the day. Would have liked to see more of this, but the Spartans just weren’t a challenge.
The one time SJS mounted some pressure, he stepped up with the athletic prowess of Sam Darnold, reset quickly and delivered a nice ball. Other than that, his jersey doesn’t need to hit the wash.

On the hoof, he’s got it all. He’ll be a priority watch against better competition. Measurables are perfect. Definitely has a plus pro caliber arm. Quick release.

I’ll never get used to USC being part of Big 10 Football. I barely got accustomed to Penn State.

Impressive, but like I said, it was basically a 7 on 7 drill for the most part. But, that’s what a 7 on 7 drill should look like.

I have my doubts about him. I think he's getting more yardage out of his last name than he should.
