OT: Dolly Parton dies, 80 years old
One of the very good ones has passed on. An incredible lady, icon and humanitarian. The real deal and an original, sorry to see it. She did a ton of great things in this world from a charity perspective.

I need to go listen to the original to cleanse my ears of that.

Dunno. Still lacks the iconic vocal style of Plant. Something about his haunting voice and then when he hits the falsetto.
She was always unquestionably talented, but despite those knockout looks, she was never touched by scandal and kept her heart true and her relationship with God very clear. I don't think it is too early to contemplate St. Dolly.
Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.
I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank… pic.twitter.com/LPHi3cKe5m

Working with Dolly on “Home Sweet Home” was one of the true highlights of our career. We can still hear her voice saying, “Well, how about that, Dolly and Mötley at #1?”

Jack White stepped into the spotlight only hours after Dolly Parton left us at 80… and answered with a spectral, heartbreaking “Jolene.”
In that moment, the song became a farewell letter written in guitar and voice. pic.twitter.com/JtYYqwmIp5

tough to match the style of Plant...Like trying to match the style of Lennon, Aretha, Marvin Gaye or Sam Cooke.
Never heard anyone who could sing a Steve Perry, Stevie Wonder or Elton John song like the OG's did either.
