Myles Garrett escapes hell. Jared Verse otoh...
Pity the poor Browns fans. That was a storied franchise long ago, but it's been pure shit since it was re-formed after Modell screwed them all.

Verse is from Dayton, OH so he's probably not too upset.

Hopefully it was more than just one first round pick... if not, Browns got kinda hosed even if you think Verse is worth a first round pick. Garrett is on a completely different level as a edge rusher.

Full trade terms, per ESPN sources:
Rams receive: Myles Garrett
Browns receive: Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 2nd and a 2029 3rd.
Rumor is the Packers are trying to get Josh Sweat.....
Any idea how much money the Browns have to eat to make this work, given that they just resigned him last year. Kind of crazy to sign him to a huge contract and then trade him the following year.

I am not for certain, but I think the Browns restructured his deal this year. I would guess with the notion that they were going to trade him.
Rams and Browns started talking about the Myles Garrett trade since draft time. One of the reasons they selected Ty Simpson in first round was because they knew they’d be without AT LEAST next years one. Rams were hoping to make it all draft capital and fought to not include…

Rams are inheriting Garrett's contract with low cap hits for 3 years and a functional APY of ~$33m for 3 years - very possibly the last 3 elite years he has left.

That's like 8th in EDGE APY, some ~15m/y under market now.
Contract wise, Garrett is a bargain for the Rams.

One would think .. On the other hand 20 something millionaire in LA on a team close to going to a Superbowl..or back in Cleveland playing for a dumpster fire. 🤔

No surprise there...Not sure even he would have helped them last SB tbh.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
I always find the NFL media hype machine so funny.....remember the Micah Parsons trade last year? The media was already stamping Superbowl trophies for Green Bay in last August. Now the Rams are going 'to break the NFL' by getting Garrett. 🙄 Both good moves IMO, but you have to actually see some games to understand how really impactful it ends up being. And injuries are always the X factor, can't play in bubble wrap.
Brez cleaned up KAM's mess and opened the runway for Teasley to cook if need be right away. The 2027 Draft looks to be potentially a great one. I like where Minnesota is if they can hit on QB1.

Giving up Verse (I thought he was the next great thing) and a 1st rounder? Wow.
Right? On the surface, many teams would likely value Verse over 30yo Garrett. Only 25, on his rookie contract, cornerstone at edge for the next 8 years. The future looks bright. But at this very moment, Garrett is the best in the business. Classic case of win-now thinking. They did the same thing with Stafford, Jalen Ramsey and Von Miller.
Whoever says the draft is the way to build a team needs to look at what the Rams have done.
