Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger! Has everybody forgotten that you can spend future cap dollars today?
Why are all these "professionals" framing everything like we're poor. Just report that the Vikings don't really like Allen's performance for his cost or whatever. Why frame it like we can't afford to do anything, when we're less constrained than most other teams?

I think the Vikings are going to try get younger in a hurry.
There is a great class of QBs coming out next year and if McCarthy falters.

They thought they were making a run last year and spent like drunken sailors at a whore house, except they forgot the quarterback had never taken an NFL snap before. Now it's time to cut the overpriced veterans we signed last offseason and get younger. Do I trust this front office to make wise decisions as currently structured? Hell no! However, this is the right move

Redmond is only 26, I think he has a lot to do with why the Vikings are cutting Allen.
Redmond also earned a raise. Wonder what happens to hargrave? This idea is just plain dumb. We'd be eating $17M dead cap to save $6.5M and then we have to go out and find two starting DTs?
Who expects the Vikings to do this is not explained. If they're not saying "An insider says ..." I think it just means the tweeter believes this, rather than a reporter reporting something. Hargrave was already released .. or more accurately, the Vikings stated he'll be released soon.

Last year's FA class: yikes it was bad.
I just don't get signing KAM to a contract extension and then firing him while he's attending the Senior Bowl. The whole thing reeks. He's deservedly gone, that isn't my beef....but whatever. Its done. Let's get some shit done this offseason and Draft so we can compete in the NFCN, which I believe will happen.

Not so much about this particular news, but how the media is framing all of our decisions lately. We're a handful of painless contract conversions away from having plenty of cap space. With Allen and Hargrave, the performance didn't match the salary. No more complicated than that.

The FA gods giveth in 24 and taketh away in 25 I agree about KAM timing...I suspect there was a singular event that pushed this over the edge vs whats been portrayed by ownership. Moving on to 26 now... Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger! Vikes making the necessary moves, now
extend AVG, O’Neil, Brandel, Restructure Greenard, jets Cut Ryan Kelly( if he doesn’t retire). It’s time to play Jurgens or Brandel, you can’t have an all star at every position We need starters from this draft. I’m hoping we trade down far enough to land 2 top 50 picks cause that’s where the value in this draft is 20-50. There are 2 starter/impact rotational guys in that range |
