From a football perspective, this is the best outcome for the Vikings in FA. McCarthy has already gone 6-4 as a starter. If not for the WTF injuries (high ankle sprain, concussion and breaking his finger on a helmet), McCarthy takes them to the playoffs. What killed the season was not having a viable backup. Wentz beat the Burrow-less Bengals and the Browns, and lost the rest of his games. Brosmer was so bad it was comical.
If as expected Kyler is the starter, I have WAAAAYYYY more faith in JJM as a backup to come in when necessary than I did in last year's clown show. And vice versa. Now if KOC will finally adjust his system to the QB and stop calling pass plays on 3rd and 1, we can roll ![]() It's weird that a 5'9 quarterback that struggles on time and flourishes off -script is gonna run KOCs offense.
Going from cousin's as a statue, to Sammy, who could scramble to Murray who is a human joystick is gonna be a trip. Hope it works.

KOC said he was going to have a QB competition and he accomplished that, but we know that Kyler will be QB1. We'll see how it all goes, that's why they play the games. Everyone knows my take, so time to move forward and do a deeper dive into Kyler Murray and wish the guy the best. Its up O'Connell to get the wins and into the playoffs with this move. I mean, they won 9 last year right? With absolute 'garbage' QB play, some of the worst ever seen in NFL history by a starter, correct? Sky is the limit then and nothing less should be expected nor tolerated. WIN. He's also recovering from a foot injury, so hopefully no hiccups there.
Kyler did a nice job at the presser, said the right things in a meaningful way and related to Viking's fans. I do think, for whatever that means, he's going to be very motivated. He's talented, nobody can deny that. Murray on yesterday's visit with the Viking's org: "I met a lot of genuine, real people," Murray said. "They've done nothing but treat me with great respect and love so far since I've been here. I'm very appreciative of how today went."

worst case scenario.... the Twins are always looking for middle infield help.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
