Who's Your Stick and Pick Player?
Posted by: MaroonBells - 04-18-2025, 10:47 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (39)

I think outside of the obvious Jeanty and Graham, the only players I stick and pick are...

1. Shemar Stewart, DE - He's listed at edge so not a lot of Viking fans are talking about him, but he was 6-5, 281 at the Senior Bowl. Another 9 lbs and he's a 3-4 DE prototype. And I don't think 9 lbs is going to slow him down one bit. Now imagine a pass rushing line of Greenard, Hargrave, Allen, Stewart, Gink and Turner. Or just the best 4 of those 6. That's just unfair.

2. Malaki Starks, S -  Love Starks, but I think you'd want to get him a little later. Problem is, I looked at all 8 teams who pick after us in the 1st round and all but one have S among their needs. If he makes it to 24, he's not going to be on the board long.

I’m not putting Will Johnson on this list because of his ridiculous injury history (he’s actually hurt AGAIN), and the fact that the Vikings probably aren't done yet at CB. All other players at DT, RB, CB and OL I think have very similarly graded players 10 to 15 picks later. As much as I love Henderson, the Vikings NEED picks, and the depth at running back in this class is just absurd.

Fun fact, Josh Rosen had a better rookie season.

KOC signed his contract extension January 21st.....

....and still nothing on KAM other than they 'are talking'. It seems a bit strange to me, anyone else? The Draft is 6 days away, probably the biggest exposure platform for a GM outside the first week of free agency. Will it get done before Thursday? What is the holdup? Length of extension? Does it say something if it doesn't match the length of O'Connell's? (phrasing)

Down here in Florida in 1980 this was not broadcast but they did go to it live with about a minute remaining. This was a good day.

Rodgers burning the Jets bridge/Me time

Rodgers rips the #Jets, Glenn specifically, for how they informed him on moving on.

“The confusing thing is I went out there, we start talking … he (AG) runs out the room.”

Rodgers says he & Glenn got into it, telling each other, “You don’t know me”

"I figured when I flew across country to meet with the Jets there was gonna be a conversation..

We sat down in the office & 20 seconds in the coach said we're going in a different direction..

That's totally fine but they could have just told me that on the phone" ~n@AaronRodgers12

Asked if it feels like if he plays, it'll be with the #Steelers, Rodgers says: "I am trying to be open to everything and not specifically attached to anything when it comes to this decision. I’m not holding anybody hostage – I really want to emphasize that. … I’m just going through a lot in my personal life that has to take precedent at this point. ... At the same time, I want to keep the lines of communication open."

From the jump, I'm in a different phase of my life, I'm 41 years old, I'm in a serious relationship, I have personal commitments I've made... and people in my inner circle battling difficult stuff. To make a commitment to a team is a big thing."

It's incredible that US Senators worry more about a convicted gang member being sent to their home country than American Hostages across the globe held by terrorists.

If the Raiders take a QB, I could see Aidan O'Connell in purple
Posted by: StickierBuns - 04-16-2025, 06:36 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (14)

Wet/MAD GAINZ brought up Aidan a bit ago as a potential KOC guy/QB2 and I think that's an astute opinion. It only really works if Las Vegas drafts a QB, otherwise they'd want to keep him. Could be a draft day thing where they take a QB and then work something out. IMO, he'd be a top 5 QB2 in the NFL and a manageable contract for 25'-26'. Smart guy and keeps the fire lit under JJM's butt in a lowkey way. Might be some competition for Aidan/Minnesota out there however.  I think it would be a good career move for AO.
