Darrisaw has been working his way back from a knee injury suffered in Week 8 of the 2024 season.

We have all been waiting for this game since the moment we heard Goodell say JJ McCarthy, so it seems a little surreal it is going to happen in a few hours.  I definitely feel an extra level of nerves for the game.  I think we all know we can't put too much into one road game, but definitely want to see the signs of potential, that he is the guy many of us think he is.  Also just from a personal standpoint, he is such a good kid, you want to see him succeed.

  The Giants are going to ruin Jaxson Dart
Posted by: StickierBuns - 09-08-2025, 12:00 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (4)

Let me say first, I personally don't see Dart as a franchise QB. But regardless, if Dart ends up starting, which is what I think is going to happen in a few weeks, the Giants will ruin him with this team. I mentioned a month ago that Drake Maye is my choice behind Caleb Williams to be the 2 QBs that don't make it long term out of the 2024 1st round QB class and the Patriots are doing it to him. 2 different coordinators in your first 2 years is such a huge impediment to long term success, along with having the surround be poor. The Giants are a talented-deprived team, just like New England has been and how Chicago was last year. Johnson's offensive is going to be too complex for Caleb. Dart will go down this same path.

JMO, Jaxson Dart is going to be an INT machine in the NFL. I like the kid otherwise, but it'll be something he never overcomes in the NFL. JMO.

  Man loses $200K on Ravens
Posted by: MaroonBells - 09-08-2025, 10:52 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (1)

I hope this isn't true. It may not be. Either way, I don't care how much money you have, betting $200K on week ONE of the NFL is idiotic. What's more, the Ravens were favored. So it's not like he stood to win several million dollars. His stake was $200K. His potential winnings were $181K. In what way is that even worth the gamble? Comet? Please explain.

  The Athletic: 'JJ's contagious energy' captivates teammates, coaches

Alec Lewis
@alec_lewis

It’s gameday.

And, at long last, J.J. McCarthy’s time.

There is almost a defiant sense of empowerment in the Vikings’ plan with the QB for 2025. So far, it has produced his characteristic energy.

“He glows. And when you’re around him, you glow also.”

  Darnold looked pedestrian

After looking at the stat line and seeing that flub at the end of the game, I am starting to become a true believer in our QB whisperer.  Sammy did not light the world on fire against  the Niners. And he did not benefit from KOC in his ear.  Is this the real Sam Darnold?  If so, we saw the best of him last year and we are fortunate to have let nature take its course.
