  Was injury due to JJ getting Ingrammed or a hip-drop tackle

I had only seen it stated that the injury occurred from JJ getting his foot stepped on (also known as Ingrammed Wink ), but it seems like there is now also some thought that it could have been to an illegal tackle.

  The next 3 weeks will determine if the Vikings can hang....

Pretty tough odds: backup QB, a plethora of injuries, etc. I have zero idea what to expect from Carson Wentz and neither does anyone else, but we probably have to trend toward hot dogshit with all extenuating circumstances factored in. But that's why they play the games.

Listen, I'm here for whatever. I wish JJ could get these needed reps but he can't, so moving on. Want to see reality, look at some of Peyton Manning and other successful QBs first 6 games: horrid. We don't know shit yet about JJ. I'm just taking it one game at a time, maybe we can sneak out a win against Cincy. But I don't think Minnesota can start 1-4 and climb back into a wildcard race in the NFC. These next 3 games aren't ball breakers, so maybe there's a puncher's chance.

  Geno Smith stats from last night/Jeanty
Posted by: StickierBuns - 09-16-2025, 03:53 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (23)

24/43, 180 yards with 0 TDs and 3 INTs. Happens to vet QBs as well.

And Ashton Jeanty, the supposed next 'great' generational RB? 11 carries for 43 yards...he's now averaging 2.7 yards a carry. This guy never blew me away. Where's the great RB from this class that some were fretting about not getting?? Might be Trent Richardson/Ki-Jana Carter territory for Jeanty.

  Quick: Who was the Vikings starting QB first game in 1998?

If you said The Preacher? You'd be wrong...

I posted this in another thread (as did Maroon). Will history repeat itself?

Probably not, but after 55 years of rooting for the team, a guy can dream...

Something like this grabs your attention:

========================================

In Detroit, high school students are volunteering to serve as pallbearers at the funerals of homeless veterans who have no family to honor them.

This initiative, called the Pallbearer Ministry, began in 2015 when a group of six seniors from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School decided to step in and offer a dignified farewell to veterans who passed away alone.

Since then, the program has grown, and over 50 students have been trained to assist at these services. Each student learns about the life and military service of the veteran before the funeral, which helps them connect more deeply with the person they are honoring.

By participating, the students provide a final act of respect for those who served the country but had no family to carry their casket. The experience is not only a way to show respect to the deceased but also offers the students valuable lessons in empathy, dignity, and community service.
