  Trade Deadline
Posted by: supafreak84 - 10-29-2025, 12:15 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (37)

The NFL trade deadline is next Tuesday. Anybody out there you think the Vikings should have interest in? Anybody on the roster you think we should look to trade? If a team offers us a 1st round pick for Addison, would you listen? I think there is going to be a fair amount of moves league wide. It will be interesting to see if the Vikings are active at all

  About that “Climate Change” thing.

I guess it isn’t quite that existential threat it was made out to be less than 12 months ago and since Al Gore invented the internet.  These people just make the world worse by continuously fabricating stories that sheeple inevitably take hook, line, and sinker.

Sources: The future is now in New Orleans, with the #Saints making rookie QB Tyler Shough their starter.

Spencer Rattler now heads to the bench, while the second-rounder moves to the forefront in a decision coach Kellen Moore informed them of today.

  Darrisaw & O'Neil Update
Posted by: purplefaithful - 10-27-2025, 05:10 PM - Forum: The Longship - No Replies

Both left tackle Christian Darrisaw and right tackle Brian O’Neill did practice Monday.

O’Neill was inactive Thursday night after having played a full game against the Eagles in his return from a right MCL sprain suffered in Week 6.

O’Connell said postgame that O’Neill had some swelling in his left knee, potentially due to overcompensating for his right knee injury.

O’Neill declined to comment on that but said he’s feeling “pretty good.”

“Back to the training room and see where it takes us,” he added.

Darrisaw played nine snaps against the Chargers before leaving the game. He said Monday that his “body didn’t respond how [he] wanted it to” in-game and he didn’t want to set back his recovery, which he noted has been ahead of schedule. He was originally given a 12-month timeline to return to game action after suffering a season-ending injury in Week 8 last year. He returned in Week 3 this season.

Darrisaw went through an on-field workout monitored by a few staff members before the game Thursday. He said he wanted to move around after the team didn’t practice all week.

O’Connell said Friday that the team not playing another non-Sunday game until Week 17 should help set a consistent rhythm for Darrisaw’s between-game recovery and turnover.

“It’s gonna be really helpful,” Darrisaw affirmed with a smile. “Just having our normal routine. No short weeks. We get all the time that we need to recover.”

Tight end Josh Oliver (foot) and cornerback Jeff Okudah (concussion), who both also made early exits against the Chargers, were not seen Monday.

  We're on to Detroit...
Posted by: comet52 - 10-27-2025, 09:06 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (50)

...to paraphrase Belichick.

The Lions are looking like the NFC's powerhouse team, though I still think Man Campbell's decision-making is inept at times.

But whatever, it's obvious what they are while I don't know who we are at this point.  We have lost 5 in a row to Detroit and 6 of the last 7, and haven't posted a win at Ford Field since 2020.

We are 9.5 point dogs, the biggest road dog  line I've seen for the purple in many, many years.

Thoughts?

Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson is in police custody in Fort Bend County, Texas, according to official jail records.

Peterson, 40, was arrested the morning of Oct. 26 in Sugar Land, Texas on charges of DWI and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to Fort Bend County records.

The Palestine, Texas native will meet with a judge on Oct. 27 after spending the night of Oct. 26 in jail, a Fort Bend Sheriff's Office spokesperson told the Houston Chronicle. Peterson will be eligible to post bail following his meeting with the judge, the spokesperson said.

The Oct. 26 incident is at least the second drunk driving incident for Peterson this year. The 15-year NFL veteran was arrested in Minnesota on a DWI charge in April, hours after he had made an appearance at a Minnesota Vikings 2025 NFL Draft party.

  Bad Kirk Sighting in Atlanta
Posted by: pattersaur - 10-27-2025, 07:08 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (9)

Cousins started for an injured Penix yesterday at home against a terrible Miami team and the Falcons looked like dogwater.

"If the Atlanta Falcons were looking for verification that they made the right move in switching from Kirk Cousins to Michael Penix Jr., they found it Sunday. If the Falcons were looking for anything approaching optimism on the rest of the season, it was nowhere to be seen in Atlanta’s 34-10 loss to the not-so-hapless Miami Dolphins..."

I feel like the next 10 weeks are an extended preseason to see if McCarthy can be counted on for 26. That’s it.
