  They look like shit

All those who still think the Vikings can win the Super Bowl this year raise your hands. All of you who have risen your hands are either a liar or did not see last nights game.
Never mind the score. Look at the 14-0 deficit by the starting teams. Adrian Peterson is going to shred the Viking run defense and Brees is going to do the same with the pass defense. Even though it's preseason and everything is vanilla and hidden, a tackle is still a tackle. A pass is still a pass. A catch is still a catch. A block is still a block. A hole is still a hole. The starters did none of these things. They looked flat and tired.
It seems to be the same old offense with the one back set and the defense still commits to the run blitz to the quarterback and stuffs the play. It's year 4 of Zimmer and if the Vikings implode in 2017, it's time to start thinking that Zimmer's scheme is not working and a change should come forthright.
The 58 yard field goal was the high light of the game, but based on the way the ball curved one could tell that eventually he would do a Blair Walsh and miss. It happened on the 47 yard try.
I would rather be a pessimist and be surprised then an optimist and be disappointed.

Vanguard83 Goes Swimming and Misses Heineke Magic

=) Vanguard, I told you they would come back and it would be one of the greatest come backs in Viking history.   Ha! Ha!
Dumb game to begin with but great finish to see Heineke drive the team down the field, score, and go for two.

OK--so NOW who do you cut?

Here are a few questions rolling around in my head post 49ers game.

Do we keep 4 TEs?-- If so,

Who do we keep at WR? Who would you cut?

Do we keep Bowers on the 53?

Do we keep 3 QBs?  Or 2, and make a trade for Heineke?

Keep Jleel Johnson at the 3tech?  bye bye Datone?

there are going to be some TOUGH decisions coming up.

Vikings offensive line = What the team's season hinges on.
Remmers is the weakest link on a suspect line.

Pretty big for the rookie. The staff likes this guy. He does well tonight, I think he wins the job.

Vikings RB Murray ready for action, 5 months after surgery
Posted by: purplefaithful - 08-27-2017, 02:43 PM - Forum: The Longship - No Replies

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) The results of the exhibition itself will be rendered meaningless for the Minnesota Vikings as soon as the weekend is over.
For Latavius Murray, his mere participation is what matters most.
More than five months after surgery on his right ankle, six days after the running back signed with the Vikings as a free agent, Murray will finally be free to carry the ball for his new team in a game situation.
”I’m just happy that I’ll be out there. So we’ll see how the workload goes,” Murray said after practice on Friday afternoon.

This one is easy, well for me, being in the middle of the country and everything I know about the west coast is from TV ads...   It will be some form of Rice-A-Roni, you know, the San Fransisco treat!   Haven't decided on a flavor yet.  What other culinary concoctions is SF known for?

Keep it G rated people...   =)

You're QB1 in the Factory Of Sadness...

DeShone Kizer - QB - Browns

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, it's a "done deal" that Browns second-round QB DeShone Kizer will start Week 1 against the Steelers.

Coach Hue Jackson stopped short of officially anointing Kizer in his post-game remarks, but it's pretty evident which way he's leaning. "I feel comfortable with him," said Jackson of Kizer. "He has the right feel for me and for what I'm looking for." Kizer wasn't great in Saturday's win over Tampa Bay, completing just 6-of-18 passes for 93 yards and an interception. But he's been Cleveland's best quarterback throughout the summer and deserves to lead the rebuilding Browns in 2017. Cabot also hinted that Jackson could make a surprise move by promoting Kevin Hogan to No. 2 on Cleveland's QB depth chart.Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer Aug 27 - 8:46 AM
