Tippin' the Viking Cap to Murray
Posted by: HappyViking - 10-23-2017, 05:18 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (4)

On a day that Jet wasn't able to get much going and break anything, Murray comes to life by grinding out tough inside runs directly into the Ravens teeth.   He showed some grit, toughness, and some decent speed by finally breaking one for a TD.  He's looking more comfortable, and gaining confidence each week.  We need it too.

Going 18 for 113 with a 6 yard average, gets my vote for offensive MVP.  B)

I've got zero use for Treadwell.

With Diggs/Floyd out, Treadwell was in for a season-high 83% of Vikings offensive snaps. Had 3 catches, 28 yards. No special teams play.

Ok, what's the deal with this offensive line depth?

Backup to the backup Isidora gets in and gets kudos from Zimmer in the postgame presser. Rashod Hill goes in and Reiff says he played 'great' and two of the longest drives of the game came when those two were in there. No sacks allowed. Pinch me.

With stars playing unselfishly, Vikings' defense is suffocating opponents

The sharks roaming the Vikings defense smelled blood. Third-and-long, crowd going nuts, a popgun Baltimore Ravens offense on its heels.
Everson Griffen lives for those moments.
“You get to pin your ears back and rush,” he said.
To his left, Anthony Barr darted back and forth along the line, making it impossible to know if he was going to blitz or drop into coverage. He pounced on everything in his vicinity Sunday, staying a step ahead of the Ravens offense all game.
“He’s hitting, he’s running, he’s making big plays,” Griffen said of Barr.
On the back end, Harrison Smith and Xavier Rhodes had that area on lockdown, too.
“You play like when you’re a kid out there just loving the game,” Smith said.

  27%, 4.6, 14, 1, and 17

The first number is third down conversion percentage our D is giving up...only the Broncos are currently better...honestly I'm shocked anyone was better than 27%…

4.6 is our yards per play given up on D...which is tied for third...

14 is the number of 20 yard pass plays surrender, tied for second...

1 is the number of running plays over 20 or 40 yards, which is first...

17 is ppg, which is 4th...

Basically, our D is getting off the field on 3rd down, not giving up big plays vs the pass or run, and they can't be scored upon...

4th in sacks and ints too...

Is that true? Hate London games - unless I was there of course.
