Well this is coming in a hurry!

The Minnesota Vikings must decide on Jordan Addison's fifth-year option by May 1, 2026, which is projected to cost approximately $17.5 million for the 2027 season.

This decision is significant, as Addison's performance in the 2026 season will influence the Vikings' approach to a potential contract extension, with market comparisons suggesting a deal in the $25–30 million per year range.

I didn't realize it was that soon. I think they probably give him the 5th year option. It guarantees that $17.5M for the 2027 season, but it avoids having to commit to him long term. I think they need to see at least ONE season where he keeps his nose clean before they commit long term, which may not even be possible anyway, given how much we're paying Jefferson.

I'm not sure they can keep him at that $$ amount either...It's why we probably draft a WR (again) this coming draft. I know Jettas re-structured, but it may not have been enough to impact keeping Addison in that $25-$30 range.

Highly doubt they pick it up considering they're going to be likely allocating a bunch of money to re-signing Kyler next year.

Too bad Vikings can't add a clause to the option extension that has harsh penalties to Addison for turdish behavior.

in this age of free agency and pass happy offenses.... you should be grabbing a WR in every draft,  sometimes more than 1.
