NEWS: The Colts are finalizing a two-year, $88 million extension that can be worth up to $100 million with QB Daniel Jones, sources tell The Athletic.
Jones was transition tagged last week as Indy continued to negotiate with his camp. Now, they get it done.

Nothing says "potential expensive disappointment" like a situation in which the QB is wheeled in to sign his contract....
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

I don’t know what the most correct thing for them to do was. I have to imagine that 2026 will be a subpar year for him, and you’re hoping for more in 2027. That’s a lot of money to pay him for basically one year of his time, but you can’t really commit long term due to the injury, and you’re kind of punting on 2026 and there’s not really any super great options out there.
I think they would very much be a candidate for any of the free for one year QBs out there as a backup/insurance policy.

He can come be QB2 behind JJ in 2028.

Amen....
2025 (Colts): Suffered a season-ending right Achilles tear in December (Week 14). Prior to that, dealt with a fibula fracture in November.
2023 (Giants): Suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in November (Week 9), ending his season. Also missed time earlier in the season with a cervical neck pinch.
2021 (Giants): A cervical neck pinch (disk herniation/spinal stenosis) forced him to miss the final six games of the season.
2020 (Giants): Dealt with multiple injuries, including a hamstring strain and a pedal ankle sprain.
2019 (Giants): Rookie season included a shoulder clavicle fracture and a high ankle sprain.

And somehow got paid top dollar somewhere in there as well. Then was released.
