Oye.
Gilmore must be in play? Me thinks kwesi is gonna trade for a ringer.

Surprised we actually gave up on him considering he was a 3rd rounder, but mostly shocked we got anything for a guy who if he wasn't a high draft pick would have been most likely cut.

A lot of cuts and a lot of collecting pennies on the dollar on a lot of high draft picks. Not helping Kwesi's draft average
Addison and Jay Ward the only picks on the roster still from the 2023 class

Glad and surprised, they got something for him.

Not helping Kwesi's draft average I think Kwesi has been getting better...learning, adapting. There are multiple ways of building a roster. Draft is one. But so is Free Agency. And Undrafted Free Agents. I think he has hit it out of the park on those latter two methods. He's acting more decisive, I've noticed, picking his markets, getting picks in return. Building capital. I mean really gang, WTF are we going to do with 11 picks next draft when maybe 5 might make the roster (assuming we end up with a good roster this year)? I am not positive, but I suspect ALL FIVE 25 picks look like they are going to make the roster (knock on wood). That's about or above average. I could care less about Kwesi's draft average. I look at what he's done the last three years to build the roster. Pretty damn good.

Bartholomew is ending up either on IR or cut. And with the upcoming bloodbath to whack $60 million off next year's cap, Kwesi's going to need a lot of picks and hit on them to keep the roster stacked. Has anyone ever gone CB 1st, 2nd and 3rd round? ![]()

The problem with this logic is every team has to deal with the salary cap. Next year they have to cut a ton because of the FA signings. So you build a team with free agents because you drafted poorly and that comes with a price. Someone mentioned how poorly the Patriots drafted and I agree, but the team also sucks eggs. UDFAs are great, but their ceilings are usually MUCH lower than draft selections. You need to hit on draft picks, its Job 1 for a GM. The rest is really just backfill or Plan Bs. |
