Pretty crazy stuff really.

Well he did get his money. Doubt anyone will touch that salary, believe he'll have to renegotiate with whatever team he goes to.

Wow. That escalated pretty fast.

Yah, that was my impression too...

Gmen on the hook for (I believe) $23mm next season. Not terrible, not great.

Oh and they are in the mkt for a starting QB. I hope like hell NY fans are lamenting passing on JJM in the not too distant future.

I’d take Jones for a back up. He’ll sign for the minimum because he probably has offset language.

Jones isn’t due any money next season. The $23 some million is the Giant’s dead cap hit in 2025. He is only due his remaining game checks this season at like $1.97 million per game.

If I were Jones, I wouldn't sign with anyone this year. I'd take the time off, get away from the game for a bit and strategize with my agent on where to sign after the season. I wouldn't negotiate down my remaining pay of $2 mill a game to be signed by Carolina or some other train wreck this season. Get with a solid organization, good coaches and at least a semi-talented team. Somebody is going to want to 2.0 Jones like Darnold, Mayfield and Geno Smith and I'm sure he wants that as well. But maybe a backup will be his only option to start, but the same criteria would apply from his standpoint.

I agree the guy needs to step away, take a deep breath, take stock of things.

He's already made a lot of $$ and he's only in his 20's right?

Oh and he needs to make sure to send _onatell a Xmas card this year Smile

The speculation is already simmering on Facebook and elsewhere...and I'm on a lot of those threads, saying "for f***'s sake, NO".
STRETCH RUN, VIKINGS...LET'S END THIS SEASON WITH BANGS!

Oh I would take him as a back-up in a heart-beat!

He seems like a good guy and would fit in most locker rooms too.
