Great news, definitely who I was hoping they'd get.

A lot of Viking fans had him at the top of their list.

Why are we doing such short deals?  Davenport for 1-yr and Murphy for 2?

I like the signing, we needed a young vet to round out our CB room.  Now bring back Shelley.

Wonder if these deals are cuz Flores might only be here for two years at most?

Preparing for JJ and Darrisaw's contracts, just a guess.

When you sign younger players predominantly it becomes a marketing tool. Playing an inefficiency of getting players on good deals with the idea they can retry FA at or before age 28 for a longer term deal.

As for Murphy, he's a solid DB. More of a high-end #2 that #1. Can hold up on the outside but has a ton of value in the slot as well. Finding a capable DB who could play inside & out was the key to anyone they signed in FA. Really opens them up to additional draft options and doesn't force a man-to-man corner early.
