Mond stash or trash?
#1
was watching Jordan Love the other night and although he looked pretty decent against 2nd and 3rd teamers, remember he was a 1st rounder in his 3rd year and is finally showing some signs of life.

I think we should keep Mond on the 53 as he will be gone if waived i think. These young guys take time to develop.  we will see soon I guess.

I suspect he gets cut and it's Mullens qb2 and Mannion on the ps.  Nice kid but too limited, processes too slow and new regime didn't draft him so cutting him doesn't require tap dancing explanations.

Rick always avoided having to make those up by just holding onto his garbage way past the point where everyone could smell the stench of it lol.

Mond was a desperation pick. He's proven to be nothing more than that. A fringe 3rd QB in an age where 3rd QB's are rarely worth a roster spot. Simple as that.

We have a lot of depth issues on this team...

But trying to practice squad him wont work, same as cutting him.

I give him another year, I saw enough progression to warrant a year.

That said, the coaches have seen a lot more than me and I'm good with their decision.

They've earned my trust - for now.

I think Mond has a long way to go yet, and I doubt he'll ever be a starting-capable QB, but I would like to see what he looks like in another year. So 53 him. That said, if we lost him to waivers, I'm not going to lose any sleep.

Keep him on the roster.  He'd be a fine #3 at the very least.

This is my thinking. We shouldn’t expect him to be an average or better starter, but a cost effective backup that can manage a game has value. If he can become that ( or even better a stopgap starter) after this year…

Kid was drafted about where he should have been and it was all the rage that him over Davis was a no brainer. Maybe he will never know how to read progressions, but it will likely come down to that.
