Maybe he believed in AR or maybe people are reading too much into him treating AR in a friendly manner. He seems to want to foster good relationships with every young QB he meets. Not a bad thing but it doesn't necessarily tell us what his eval of them is. He probably would have been nice to Will Levis too but he passed on him in the draft when he had the chance.

He sees a ball thrown to the 2nd window when, based on where the safety was, should've been thrown to the 1st window. He sees a 5-step drop that should've changed to a 3-step based on pre-snap reads., etc, etc.
We know that he also knows that we don't know what he knows.

Yes, unless something catastrophic happens in TC, KM is going to start the season as QB1. I also agree with MB, it's not really a competition at all.
There's a lot of time from when JJM was drafted to today...Namely all the injuries that set him back and the fact he's been plagued with the inability to layer passes, poor accuracy & poor mechanics.
To his credit, it sounds like he's putting in the grind to work on those this off-season. But it's all still a (big) question mark today and HE needs to prove he's no longer the QB with a 35.6 QBR.
The onus is on him. There is just way too much at stake for there to be a benefit of the doubt on this.
I dont blame the Vikings org at all for hedging their bet with JJM. He didn't leave them with a choice did he?
Not with a win now locker room and their interests also at stake.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Its real.
'The Vikings quarterback, 23, made a cameo appearance Friday at Yankee Stadium for the Bombers’ home opener against the Marlins in support of Devils star and Olympic hero Jack Hughes, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch, along with goaltender Aerin Frankel, who won gold in Milan with the women’s team.
McCarthy became friends with Hughes’ younger brother and Devils defenseman Luke Hughes, 22, while attending the University of Michigan, according to NBC’s Bruce Beck, who shared an Instagram snap with the quarterback.'

Yep, and McCarthy being a hockey guy, I imagine he was thrilled, like most hockey fans and some Americans, to watch the men and women win Gold recently that celebrating and spending time with his friend(s) and fellow AMERICAN hockey guys was a logical thing.
I assume, MB, that your question was just rhetorical and a joke and JR you are just throwing fuel on the fire with those dumb comments (and your continued hatred for McCarthy)...maybe you both should start rumors about McCarthy being courted by the Jets or Giants as that would be more believable.

Yeah, JJ isn't going to stop being JJ for anyone. He was on the road to being a really good hockey prospect but had to choose one sport and football won. I had to chuckle when a few Vikings fans online were complaining that McCarthy wore a White Sox hat to the collegiate hockey playoffs a week or so ago....its like, the dude is going to get another shot outside of Minnesota. He grew up in the Chicago 'burbs, so of course he's going to grow up being a fan of Chicago sports. And these same few fans whining about that are the ones dogging him nonstop on social media, lol.

I can't speak for JR, but if you've read anything i've written in the last two years, you know that I am in no way a McCarthy hater. The reason I found that video a little disturbing was because JJ looked thin to me. And that scares me a little bit. Now, I don't want to pile on the kid, because there's no shortage of JJ hate. But I'm also a big believer in not avoiding the truth, no matter where it might lead. And the truth is that he looks thin. Is it just me? I dunno, maybe. But I was hoping he'd come to camp a thicker, more muscular 225.
Now, maybe it's the angle, maybe it's the clothes, because I think the other kid is supposed to be a hockey player of some kind, and he looks just as fragile, so maybe it's nothing.
