still #1 rb on this team? Or does that now fall to Mason?

I dont expect it to be a rook RB, even if that is somehow Love.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

We really need to get a franchise #1 RB, Jones and Mason are good complimentary pieces, but neither one of them is going to take over a game or carry an offense.

I agree, its a top tier need right below DT/S imo.

But does Mason move up in the 2 person peck order?

May not matter to the scheme as they are interchangeable as players imo. Mason may have a bit more juice in short yardage.

I think it'll just be the same as last year, but we'll probably draft someone at some point

I have to believe that we're adding a RB. I'm a huge fan of Jones, but he's seemingly always playing through a few injuries.

Maybe drafting, maybe a FA, but we're adding someone.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

I don't see much changing as Mason isn't much of a pass blocker.

I really hope the Vikes add someone with juice somehow because while Jones and Mason are fine, they're hardly "feature" backs in 2026. And considering half the fanbase wants the Vikings to feature the run game more, I sense a recipe for frustration brewing unless the team adds a talent worth featuring.

Maybe a smaller guy could be had in the 5th or 6th round. Ekeler, Woodhead type.

I'd be surprised if the Vikings haven't added a running back before day three of the draft. In terms of where the value is in this draft, those two 3rd rounders would appear to be a good place for our center and running back.

I'd be on board with this if the first 2 picks and many of the later "shots" are on defense too. Also I hear we need a punter at some point.

That's the way I see it. Safety, DL in either order, then RB and Center in either order. I'm actually happy Wright is gone. We have three 7th rounders. I'm not typically a fan of drafting kickers and punters, but our 2024 6th rounder has maybe changed that a bit.
