The Vikings cannot talk to Kyler Murray until it is publically stated by the Cardinals he’s going to be released per
@RapSheet
.

Murray IS expected to meet with the Vikings tomorrow and is considered the “favorite”

It’s either him or Geno at this point. I’ll take a chance on shorty.

I think at this point it would be a pretty big surprise if the Vikings didn't sign Murray.

Funny how his number just became available with Nailor out the door. NFL scripted Superbowl?? Wink

Just kidding, lol.....I swear I'm loopy from all this conjecture.

Smith feels less controversial to me than Murray
JJM needs reps more than holding a clip-board for a year
I dont trust Murray to be more than what he's shown to-date in Az
I dont trust KOC to change his stripes to fit Murrays strengths

Other than that? I got no issues.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

The main reason I think this could happen mostly is because of the vet minimum cost for a year ($1.4 million I believe?).

Agree with the rest of what you said. Online fans are acting like we are getting Patrick Mahomes coming in. Also, some talking head said on a show yesterday that Minnesota should draft Jeremiah Love to go with Murray, so now that's their (online fanboys) naive expectations, lol. They'll be bitterly disappointed without it.

Yup, 100%

And you know what? I cant blame the Vikings for the decision to bring him in if thats the primary calculus.

BUT -- if they believe JJM is ready to take a step forward RIGHT NOW? Not waste another year for Jettas? For Addison? For the coaches?

Then they need to sign Gino instead imo.

When KOC stated that they were going to make it a competition, I think were stating they are not confident he is ready.  If this was 2025, then I think Cousins would have been signed by now.  But they are clearly not looking for a backup, spot starter guy.

JJM had moments last year where he reminded me of another 9 on the Vikings (although that 9 actually went by his name Smile ).   I do think he could turn into the QB we hoped we were drafting. However, KOC is the guy who has been with JJM for two years, whose job is on the line and who knows QBs better than most and should know best. And if he does not think JJM is ready to take that step, then actually sticking with JJM becomes the bigger risk of wasting another year of Jets.  Personally, I would rather see a trade for Will Levis than Murray, but looks like Murray is going to be it.

There are 18 UFA quarterbacks available and the only ones being talked about to the Vikings are Murray and Geno. Eleven of them have a market value under $1.4 million. What about Jake Browning, Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey Lance (reclamation project)? Sounds like Murray is going to take his time and talk to other teams so if that is the case then maybe tell him were moving on with JJM and another guy who needs a change of scenery.

The Vikings' pickings are slim...hopefully JJ comes back healthy and strong with his head on straight...
