I heard someone in the media suggest Greenard + #18 for Carter. I'm not big on that although the thought of adding Carter to our interior defensive line with Redmond and Turner/Van Gink on the edges is very intriguing

Also on Monday we learned the Vikings got the best compensatory pick (No. 97 overall, right after the conclusion of the third round) for losing Sam Darnold a year ago in free agency. If the Vikings stay at that spot, they will have four top-100 picks (a first, a second and two thirds).

Remarkably, they have made four picks in the top 24 in the last three drafts (Donovan Jackson, J.J. McCarthy, Dallas Turner and Addison) and no other top-100 picks. Yes, they haven’t made a second-round pick since 2022, which could explain a lot of their current depth woes.
