TJ Hockenson

Hock is still a helluva tight end whose production the last couple seasons was stunted much more by injury and poor QB play than any kind of age-related decline. I mean that's absurd. At 28, he's 3 years younger than Goeddert, 4 years younger than Kittle, 8 years younger than Kelce.

But since he'll be a free agent after this season, it would behoove the Vikings to draft a TE somewhere in the middle rounds. You have to think the Murray rumors may have had an impact here. I hear even Harry is now considering coming back.

I was under the belief that Hock is under contract for 2027, though he's going to have an even bigger cap number in 2027 (and 2028). Over-the-cap hasn't posted his restructured contract numbers yet, but I believe the restructure will add about $7m to 2027  and to 2028 cap numbers (2028 is a void year)

They chopped off the final year, making him a free agent after this season.

John Carlson slowly churned his legs so that Kyle Rudolph could crawl down the field so that Hock could wade through quicksand.

Kleinsasser gotta be rolling over in his grave smh. Hopefully I’m wrong about 2026 TJ.

This is very much under my own fan radar. Ive kind of given up on the guy after last season, I really thought he would get a bunch of balls from JJM.

Glad to have him in 26 tbh and I'd like to see a bone thrown to the TE room this draft again. Someone who can actually run a route.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

In tight end related news, Johnny Mundt just got released by the Jaguars in a cap savings move. The Vikings will soon need a TE1 with Hock on the last year of his contract, and though Mundt is not a TE1 and is now 32, he appeared to be one of KOC's favorites.

Some of these FA contracts every year really are kind of a joke, like Mundt's. The Jags signed him to a reasonable, 2 year deal and he can't even make the other year?
