This may seem like blasphemy, but I'd almost rather gamble on Richardson than Kyler Murray at this point. It's not what O'Connell would do, as his job hinges on acquiring a more experienced option to start, but I'd take the potential upside of the bigger, younger, athlete than what I know about the older smaller athlete who might not be as athletic after an accumulation of injuries.

of the two,  I am with you.  I see more upside with Richardson as well,  but neither of them blow my skirt up.  I wonder what a QB room of Geno for 2 years,  while JJM and AR develop and compete for back up and eventual starter role would look like in a year?

Murray has played 8 games or less in two of the last three seasons missing significant time with lower body injuries. His best trait has been his athleticism, but how much have injuries and age affected that? He will be 29 in August. He's an average to below average pocket passer and his size is a concern along with his fit in the OConnell offense. His former team was willing to eat 38+ million in guaranteed money just to rid themselves of him. If I'm delving into the land of red flags, give me the 23 year old with rare physical tools.
