The latest JJM injury

Either try to play for a chunk gain or run it again and see where you are at.  Letting a free runner come at your QB with a 13-3 lead is dumb.

I'd have honestly been fine just letting it go to half at that point.  We were in complete control the entire first half.

Dumbest play call of the year. And that guy smoked JJ, it was cringe-worthy. RUN THE BALL. KOC has gotten under my skin more this year than any other time by far.

Remember last year? At the Rams. Just outside our own end zone. Seconds away from half time. Just take a knee and go into the locker room? Nope. Ran a useless play and Darrisaw's knee got mangled. 14 months later and we are still dealing with the effects of that play.

I've begrudgingly come to jesus with the notion that JJM is not going to cement the starting position for next season this year.

I think every fan has a legit concern about the guys durability...I mean even Darnold last season started 18/18 games behind a worse OL than this year and he's 15/15 starting in SEA this season.

Snakebit or injury prone, it all falls under durability and he hasn't exhibited that at all.

Purgatory; the fan life supporting this franchise for decades.

I disagree with you both and in this case, hindsight is 20/20

That play would have been just a blip on the radar if JJM got rid of the damn ball like he should have.

I think he's still getting used to the speed of the game tbh.

We see screens all the time in that type of situation, typically low risk and if they break it for a big gain its a great call.  Should have had a chip at least on that end though.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Yah, thats a fair critique...Especially with Burns out there.

It was a dumb, greedy play call by KO before half. It was a dumb, greedy play by McCarthy to not live to fight another down. It was a dumb, greedy decision by me to buy McCarthy rookie cards for the past year. Mistakes were made.

They can all be rectified if JJ McCarthy can put it all together next year. It will be awesome and he has the game to do it. But I want my cookie now and I'm not super enthused about waiting all the way until next season to see if McCarthy can get the offense clicking to the point where it's not be the cement boots unit on the team. Dang.

The NFL as a whole this year has been great entertainment. Tons of awesome games, many in primetime. Lots of new teams and faces in the playoff picture... And then there's us, just kinda outside in the street in the cold looking through the window at all the fun. Sigh.

At least it's Christmas week! Siri play Little Drummer Boy!

It was hard to see what was happening on the other side, but sure seemed like the Giants had it sniffed out since JJM double clutched there.

If you're options are to throw it quick or throw it away, he's still taking a shot with how quick Burns got in the backfield.  Protect your young QB.

I could see being aggressive if we're down or tied, but it was 13-3 and a dominant first half.  Do a play-action rollout or give JJ a chance to see the rush and use his legs.  Stupid play call IMO.

I know some folks said this was by "design", it seemed to me like there might have been a missed line call.  Is this something that Ryan Kelly doesn't miss, but maybe Jurgens did? I just have a hard time thinking Brian O'Neill was just standing there picking his nose by design and maybe the line call was a shift to the left...
