Jordan Love is holding out...supposedly the two sides are "close", but he will not participate in TC until he's signed.
Oh I'm glad we don't have any of that this year.

I really hope he settles in @ average with a Joe Burrows salary...

He's probably threatening to go on a magic mushroom retreat or something until his demands are met...just like he was taught...!
Wishing a great season for the team, Especially Mundt and Kwenkeu!

Love's cap hit this year is just under $13m. It appears the Packers have the cap space, almost $27m. Offering a new contract at QB market prices just tightens the belt on future free agent signings.

The joys of not having a second guy in the pipeline.
It'll be interesting to see how much money he gets. It's a pretty big risk for them to pay him a year early.
Edit: I was being dumb, and looked at profootballreference and thought his rookie year was 2021, because they didn't show his 2020 season.

That cap space just got smaller with the resigning of Kenny Clark.

I thought that cap hit seemed a bit high for a rookie contract, but I guess I wasn't aware he signed a 1-year extension last year. That hit will likely go down if/when he signs long term. But, yes, after the first couple years of the new deal, they'll be playing the cap squeeze game along with the Bengals, Chiefs, Chargers, Bills, etc.
I also read they just extended Kenny Clark for big money. So there goes the hope he might sign with us next year.

Love will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025. He does have all the leverage.
If the Packers offer him, and they undoubtedly will, I'm expecting a big number. I hope they don't. I'd love to see the Packers have to start over at the QB position.

Charley Walters says the Packers don’t believe Love is the long-term answer…and they’re not willing to pay him market value….and they’re willing to go to battle with Michael Pratt…and GM Brian Gutekunst called Love’s mother a filthy and flatulent floozy who bleats like a she-goat in bed.
Jordan Love is said to feel “disrespected" and has removed all Packer-related imagery from his Insta.
