OT: Coronavirus

So the great experiment begins as US, Europe, China and SK begin to open-up...

China and SK have had about 4 cases in last few days reported where as in GB and in spots on USA the curves continue to grow. 

Lets hope this works out and we don't set ourselves back to early March again. Is the infrastructure here enough for testing, tracing and isolating? I have my doubts. 

Fingers and toes crossed this doesnt go badly. Lord knows people and the economy need it to go well.

Agreed.  And if anybody actually believes the number of reported cases and fatalaties in China, let me know.  I have some great beachfront property in Nevada for sale.

It's funny...  the origin country where this started has what...  supposedly 84,000 cases...  While the rest of the world has hundreds of thousands or more...

they will find an anti virus,  they will determine antibody testing and immunity, and we will be able to put people back to work safely soon. 

I am not fretting... I have concern for those that are unemployed right now,  and certainly for those small business owners that are losing their businesses,  but we will recover and things will find a new normal... life will go on for most of us and who knows,  maybe this soft reboot will yield some positives for the future of the US?   

I can think of a lot of things that I would change as a result of this that would have positive effects for the future,  but it would take strong elected officials that werent easily influenced by industry giants.   I think taking large facilities like we see in our meat packing industry and breaking them down and spreading them out across rural America would be much better for the integrity of our food supply as well as the health and safety of their workers.. and would also help revitalize more of rural America at the same time.  If we take these employers and break them down and spread them out,  that would create more jobs outside the urban centers and we could start to move people out of the housing projects in the inner cities and get them spread out over other parts of the country so the next pandemic doesnt find as many people living on top of each other.   I have no illusions of recreating 1950 or that we wont have massive housing projects in major urban centers,   but the trend of moving all jobs to these massive sprawling areas isnt good for anybody IMO,  we may be more economical in some instances,  but we have seen how it can bite us in the ass when all our chicks are in just one or two baskets.
