McGinn has him as LB9, but he lists both Ohio State guys as LBs, 3-4 round range.

If he lands in the 3rd, he'll be one of the steals of the draft for some team

Here are players drafted by the Vikings in recent years who were not listed among top-30 visitors:

2024 Draft Class
QB J.J. McCarthy (Round 1): While not listed in the public Top 30 visit reports, the Vikings had extensive scouting on him, including a private meeting at the Combine and Pro Day.
OLB Dallas Turner (Round 1): Similarly, Turner was heavily vetted at the Combine and his Pro Day rather than a facility visit.
T Walter Rouse (Round 6)
K Will Reichard (Round 6)
OL Michael Jurgens (Round 7)
DL Levi Drake Rodriguez (Round 7)
Note: 2024 pick CB Khyree Jackson was also not confirmed in the public top 30 list.

2023 Draft Class
WR Jordan Addison (Round 1): The Vikings did not use a top-30 visit on their top pick, relying on Combine interviews and scouting.
RB Ty Chandler (Round 5 - 2022 draft, but often cited in 2023 discussions)

Anthony Hill Jr., Linebacker, Texas - This guy right here. Been enamored with him. Could go into why, but I will just get ridiculed. Summarize, Hill Jr would be a player that would step right in after Van Ginkel in 2027.

Like him a lot, but his draft stock from site to site seems to be all over the place. Anywhere from early 2nd to late 3rd. I think it's because he's listed as an ILB which is a "devalued" position.

Could be, although with that size and athleticism he could really play inside or outside. He is identical size wise to Dallas Turner. I just think he is an excellent football player and if these projections are true, somebody is going to get a damn good player for a steal. I think he's absolutely a 1st round talent

I agree with this. He really is a 1st round talent. He does it all. Watch his game when he was a freshman against Bama. His skill set is super special. I personally think he will end up in round 2. I've heard that Flores is super into him. He's a player that will play the line and do the utility things that Gink has made a career out of. Hill Jr is that player for me.

AVG is the MVP of our D...

He's now 30 and they extended him for one year.

His position is one that'll take a rook time to get grooved in - I think it's harder than Greenards role in this scheme.

I think the sooner they have a replacement in grooming the better. And they're going to need to do the same with Cashman one of these drafts or FA periods.

8. ANTHONY HILL, Texas (6-2, 239, 4.55, 3-4): Third-year junior started 32 of 40 games. “He got a lot of hype,” one scout said. “Off the body and the athletic ability he was a 5-star, and you could probably say that about him now,” said one scout. “But as an inside backer there isn’t great take-on. As an outside backer, not just a pure edge rusher. He’s sort of caught between and not really great at either one. He isn’t super instinctive. Reading plays and the key and diagnose wasn’t natural for him. He’s built like a pro, but when you start to dig into him you definitely have question marks.” Ran fast and had a 37-inch vertical jump. Arms were 32 3/8, hands were 9 5/8. “He’s not a first-rounder,” said a second scout. “He’s a little soft at the point. He doesn’t have that linebacker mentality. I don’t want to ding him too bad.” Finished with 249 tackles (31 ½ for loss), 17 sacks, three interceptions and eight forced fumbles. “He’s tricky,” a third scout said. “He’s got some biomechanical issues that he might not ever be a good tackler in space.” From Denton, Texas. “I couldn’t get excited about this guy,” a fourth scout said. “They moved him all over the place but he doesn’t play physical. He doesn’t really trigger and get to the ball. He floats around and it kind of gets him to the play. You’ll hear he’s a great athlete but I don’t see that at all. Just an average athlete. Best thing he does is zone coverage. Has a good feel for that. Third round.”

When I hear not instinctive for a LB, I’m out.

Shocker. If Flores likes him and has advocated, I will take his word for it.
