Vikings to meet with Kyler Murray tomorrow per RapSheet
#11
I agree with the previous "9", Touchdown Tommy Kramer: the kid has "IT", just needs reps.

I'm all for insurance, I'm all for a deep QB room just as common sense...but, I think we have the kid we want, and he's training to prove it already.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

Yep. KOC better be damn sure about what he's doing bringing in Kyler....that's all I'm saying. Because the circus will be coming to town during training camp: who had the better day, JJ or Kyler? Every throw analyzed. Are you splitting the reps in camp 50-50? Who plays when in preseason? 'Sources say' the team is behind QBX....some players like QBY. And when Kyler is QB1, he better perform and win ball games. Because you are stunting a team-drafted player's development by doing this who just turned 23 two months ago.

Kyler Murray better win a shitload of games....because remember...this team is 'loaded'. Dont want to hear any excuses about injuries anywhere because JJM never got the benefit of excuses. Its not like Kyler Murray has been some kind of Ironman. I'll get behind it eventually after some venting, but this team with Murray at QB1 better WIN.

Keep an eye on the Chiefs and Andy Reid. Behind the recovering Mahomes, the backups are Chris Oladokun and Jake Haener. Since Kyler can probably be had for vet minimum, don't be surprised if the Chiefs jump into the mix for Murray.

Agree with the rest of what you said. Online fans are acting like we are getting Patrick Mahomes coming in. Also, some talking head said on a show yesterday that Minnesota should draft Jeremiah Love to go with Murray, so now that's their (online fanboys) naive expectations, lol. They'll be bitterly disappointed without it.

There are just as many who think we're getting Trey Lance or Zach Wilson. Sport, culture, politics, doesn't matter, social media is the refuge of the extreme view.

I think the Love idea came from Daniel Jeremiah, who thought the Vikings could trade up to the 7 spot to have a chance at Love. And yes, an offense with Kyler, Justin, Jordan, TJ and Love would be a lot of fun. Maybe the Vikings don't trade Greenard for a pick; maybe they trade him to move up. We know they were in on Etienne, so we know they're prepared to make a move at RB.

I think I'd prefer to use the Greenard pick on defense and draft a RB in the middle rounds, but making a big move up for Love if he falls to a certain spot would not be some earth-shattering surprise.

We're still unsure of many things when it comes to Murray such as the details of his release (pre or post-June 1) and where he'll land next — though it was a bit strange to see absolutely zero info on Murray unveiled.

Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro says Murray is paying respect to the rules and not engaging in anything before his actual release:

"Kyler Murray and his camp seem to be playing everything within the rules. Am told they will not discuss him with any other teams until he is officially released by the Cardinals. Could be why everything with him was so quiet today," Gambadoro posted on X.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see Murray sign quickly after he's officially released, as spots with the Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons were filled yesterday. Two spots to watch are reportedly the Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport also highlighted since the Cardinals haven't officially said goodbye to Murray on social platforms, he can't be treated like a free agent just yet:

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

He's not going to the Chiefs.

Really? I would be gobsmacked.

Now that would be the prize that may make Greenard leaving palatable - least to me.

Silly season produces a lot of silliness.  Did you see the guy who said the "holdup" with the Vikings and Murray is that the Vikings are still looking to trade for Joe Burrow?   The fact that Murray isn't actually a free agent yet didn't seem to cross his mind...

Senior Jets writer for the Athletic suggesting that Geno to the Jets is a done deal.  Which kinda leaves Murray as our guy, unless maybe KOC is secretly negotiating with Kirko... Shy

The Colts are interesting. Heard someone say last night that they're offering Jones an extension that would pay him $33M per, and he wants $50M per. That's a big gap. They could tell him to **** off and go with Murray for $1.3M, freeing up Jones to come to Minnesota. We already know KOC likes Jones, and he's a terrific fit in our offense. Still, his tag is $37M. That's a hard pill. But maybe that's why the Vikings are their keeping their powder dry and their money under their mattress.

If Gino is truly just "a matter of time" for the Jets, they know something. They've probably already talked to the Vikings...And the Vikings arent interested.

Either that or Gino doesnt want to be in a compete for #1 spot situation.

I've read The Colts are in the mix more than once. There is some smoke there for sure.

What if the colts just released Dimes? Can they do that now and the next team isnt on the hook for $37m?
