Not an easy first game lol!

Lions have a bye the week before too. And while they're secondary is banged up and playing like shit right now (rank bottom third in pass defense), they should at least be healthy by this game.

Eagles and Chargers are not at all the teams we thought they'd be, so those are definitely winnable games. It would be nice to hand a 5-2 team over to the kid.

If we are 5-2, I doubt they make that his return game,  to much on the line season wise becuase at that point we are in the running for top billing in the playoffs and that would be a ton to put on JJM IMO.

I still think we need to get him back out there sooner than later,  but I dont want to see him trying to knock the rust off against a top D with home field hanging in the balance.  Best thing would be if we could get sizeable lead in a coming game and give him a few series to see how he looks with minimal pressure and then make the decision.  Wont likely happen,  but I think it would be a nice way to re-immerse him back into the offense.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I think when he's 100% healthy he goes back in, and I don't think it matters who we play, where we play them or what our record is. If we keep waiting for the perfect opponent or situation, it will never come.

I think the only thing that might change that is Carson Wentz catching fire and playing out of his mind over the next couple weeks. Could happen, but based on what we've seen so far, it's not very likely.

I dunno, that seems like a better game to sneak the kid back into, vs either PHI or DET. I think that would be a less daunting game to get him back into the lineup.

Having him come back against the Lions (or the defending champions) both seemed like rough options.

I think the decision is solely on when is he physically ready, not who they play.

For me, the Chargers game makes sense from the standpoint of a mini-bye afterwards given its a Thursday nighter.

But I dont think KOC places much of a premium on that.
