What should Vikings Prioritize in 1st Round?

Pass rush pass rush pass rush. In that order.

Depends on so many things. Where does the cap settle in? What does that allow us to do in free agency? Do we still have Reiff?

I don't think anyone would argue with the fact that our biggest needs are 3T, OL (2 if Reiff is gone), DE and S. The value at safety appears to be in the middle rounds, so that's off the list.

You can also make an argument that we might be OK at edge with Wonnum. Still, hugely impactful position so it shouldn't be dismissed. If Reiff stays, we need a guard. If Reiff goes, Cleveland moves to LT and we need two guards.

Our pick has to be 3T or guard. Get one in free agency. The other is our pick at 14. Boom.

Weird, I keep losing additional comments.

Anyway, if you look at need as:

QB
DE/3T
LT
CB
WR

We potentially end up with DE/3T1, LT2 or 3, CB2 or 3, or WR3 or4.

this team has to get the o-line fixed.  If there isnt just a sure fire pick at 14 trade down get a second rounder and grab the best Defensive Line player you can in the first then Oline in the second.  Also sign a freaking guard literally anyone that is just mediocre please rick sign a guard!

Lordie, lord...

All this focus on trenches???  I actually agree with it.

The trenches cost us dearly vs SF in the NFCCG amongst many others.

I always remind myself though, that mindset would have gotten Randy Moss drafted @ 22 or later (not 21).

,...and double down in the trenches. Michael Pierce is a helluva run stopper who would've helped us so much this year....and in that SF game.

But I think we should earmark one of our several 4th round picks for another fatty. Having two 350 lb NTs you can line up next to each other on run downs would be a good thing.

Shamar Stephen might be a smart, disciplined gap player, but we need some beef.

Hunter is my biggest question mark. Neck injuries can be tough to come back from, just ask Mike Hughes. If Hunter and Michael Pierce are back and at the top of their game in 2021,... I feel good Wonnum will take a step forward. And If that happens Shamar Stephen should only look better too.

I like DT Christian Barmore or OLineman like Rashawn Slater, Christain Darrisaw or Alijah Vera-Tucker.

However, if Hunter is questionable, than edge rusher could very well be the pick.

The Vikings could fix a number of holes with the 14th pick.
