Ok, Biden is going to do what he's going to do and I'm aiming for a more positive outlook for 2021, but WTF was up with making the soldiers sleep in a parking garage last night? I'm not saying that this is his fault. Just seems pretty shitty of lawmakers in general to ask them to come protect their ass, yet they didn't bother figuring out how to house them.

You really think it was a politician that made the call or was it the soldiers COC that said this will work?
FWIW - its an environmental decision primarily folks. Frankly, its a decision that should have been made after the 9/11 attacks. The U.S. could actually begin another industrial revolution tied to clean and re-usable sources of energy. Ask yourself how interested would we be in the middle east, if there was no connection to oil. if you remove the need, there is no demand. Just my humble opinion. (Im sure I’ll get skewered and roasted)
The college loans has me upset though. Sadly this was created by the rising costs of tuition....colleges have learned that “they are first and foremost a business” ergo, education and learning take a back seat to money. It was cheaper for us to send our daughter out of state, then to go to college in our own state (California)....Hell, we ALL moved out of California. If ....and thats a big if......they want to remove student loan debt, then they better tie it to doing some volunteer work for non-profit’s.
Not fair for those of us who have saved, paid for our kids post-secondary education.
The government gonna pay my mortgage too? yeah, guess not.

I am not sure why they needed soldiers at all.... couldnt some social workers or some type of counselor have de-escalated the situation to where they didnt need guns and the threat of force?

Me either!
Because Trump supporters have proven to be intelligent, well-informed, peaceful citizens that would totally be open to listening to reason .....
and definitely not brainwashed, violent, cop-killing, armed wackos trying to stop an election because their firm belief in Trump’s nonstop lying had convinced them they need to stage a coup on his behalf.
Yeah, sooooooo funny amirite?

Canada.
From yahoo! (Katie Couric) news:
Canada scrambles to save Keystone XL pipeline (yahoo.com)
Pull quote:
"Alberta's Premier, Jason Kenney, said on Monday Biden's decision could hurt U.S.-Canada relations. He's urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to reach out to Biden before he's inaugurated on Wednesday.
"That would be, in our view, that would be a serious economic and strategic error that would set back Canada, U.S. relations with the United State's most important trading partner, and strategic ally: Canada."
Kenney further threatened to seek damages for breaking global free trade agreements."
Also....11,000 union jobs lost. (well...maybe 1/2 that 11k, according to the liberal Poynter Inst. Politifact PolitiFact | How Biden’s Keystone XL pipeline executive order affects American jobs)
So 11k jobs lost (high) or 5.5k jobs lost (low, Poynter)....and upsetting our #1 ally.
Saying this is a lame and pathetic post for attention is an understatement.
I see you finally surfaced. Hope you made new black friends on facebook while you were gone.
You'll need them pretty soon.

I wonder how many of these workers voted for Biden knowing he wanted to close down the project and cut their jobs? Pretty bad optics for Buttigieg to smirk when people have lost their jobs and smile that they can get one of the "potential maybe" jobs down the road. Perhaps they will, but definitely not a given, and no timeline, likely a huge economic impact. Is compassion too much to ask?
