First noticed him last year. Career path like Urlacher. Puts Pace back on full time ST/part timer which appears to be his ceiling after badly regressing. Insurance for the annual Cashman injury. Currently the best combination of need/talent. Probably have to move up Day 2 and we have plenty of ammo to do so.
37. Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State
There were times last year when Styles (6-4, 237) still looked like a safety learning how to be a linebacker. That’s not happening anymore. Now in his second season as a full-time linebacker, Styles has yet to miss a tackle in 293 snaps — and still moves like he could play safety again.

I like Swiss army type players at S and LB, but I think we are starting to see the rebirth of the running game in offenses and we may need to start weighing size and run stopping a little heavier when evaluating those positions. These RBs that are coming out are bigger and more punishing and we need to have box defenders that can not only get off the blocks, but be able to take the hit to the RB instead of just dragging them down after a sizeable gain. Im not talking about any specific player here, I just want to get back to having a couple LBs on the field that can bring some pain.

Reese probably goes top 10 if not higher.

Looking at Styles obviously.

Still say he’s an Edge. Early career Von Miller as a comp.
Should have kept my mouth shut.

Well, the good news is if we suck this year, we could grab this monster.

The takeaway from last night is we’re going to be in range to tap this monster. Ginks is likely done, Greenard isn’t nearly as impactful this year, and Turner is a work in progress.
