So was Vick and Kaepernick.  But if they can't learn to read the D and make the normal plays, their offense will fail.  It is like the gadget plays of Harvin or Flashy.  They look great, are exciting, but the don't extend drives, they don't keep the offense moving down the field.  If you can't depend on them every play, then it really isn't a positive.

Just like the defenders that make the splashy play once in a while but are often out of position and get burned.  You can't depend on them and they aren't a good fit in any pro offense.

Honestly, I'd take Vick or Kaepernick in their prime right now. As competition for JJ? You bet I would. So who's your guy? I mean I hear a lot of "don't want this guy" or "don't want that guy," without offering any alternatives.

Nice thing about Murray is that you can trade for him and you don’t really have to worry too much about if he likes it or not. There's no "I'm supposed to be a starter" type vibes, so I'm not going to sign. Also don’t have to worry too much about competition with JJM. Just play whichever ones healthy enough to start.
