I think part of his injury issue has been dumb (awful) luck, but he needs to do all he can to get tougher.
For sure. Watching Herbert get absolutely beaten to a pulp in the Chargers game-- even worse than Josh Allen did prior-- was rough. McCarthy has to get bigger. I think Gaston in Beauty and the Beast said he ate 4 dozen eggs every morning to get big. i'm no nutritionist but that seems like a solid starting point lol.

I noticed in the Giants game that Jaxon Dart, who's listed at 6-2, 223 looked more than 4 lbs thicker than JJ McCarthy who's listed at 6-2, 219. I think 219 is the weight he measured at the combine. Who really knows what it is now? After the knee surgery he dropped about 20 lbs, and I suspect he never quite got back to the 219.
Getting up to 225 would probably help him, but I agree with Zanary. Most of this injury shit is just bad luck. I don't think added weight would've prevented the ankle, the concussion or the hand.

I was going to turn that game off multiple times last night and thankfully resisted. Few things in sports make me as happy as gut-wrenching Packer losses. I contend LaFleur is a good coach and predict GB will be a force to reckon with in 26.
MAn, I couldn't help but think how far JJM has to go to reach the level of QB'ing I am seeing from our foes and around the league. My confidence in the kid was badly shaken this season, not emboldened.
And if Detroit has their guys... and if we have our o-line, the packers would be sitting out the playoffs.
Loved watching the Packers stumble into the playoffs and blow it. It was good salve for the failures of our season. At least we ended on a good winning streak while the Packers ended on a 5 game losing streak.

Hey, Eagles and Packers both lost.
Its as close as I'll get to "football happy" when my Vikings are out of it.
Ok, maybe if the Saints lost too...

Just waiting for the Seahawks and Darnold to lose. Then I will be satisfied. Packers, Seahawks, Eagles. Can't stand them.
