Jones & Hargrave to be cut or traded
#1
According to Schefter, both Jones and Hargrave were told that they will be released, absent finding a trde.

Vikes are $44.3 million over the cap.  Cutting Jones before March 13 would save $7.8 mm, while cutting Hargrave would shave $11mm.
Jones' dead cap space is $6.8 mm.  He is guaranteed $2mm but assuming he signs elsewhere, that amount would be reduced.

Hargrave's dead cap hit is $10.5 mm.  $4mm of his salary is guaranteed for 2026, but again, that could be reduced depending if/where/how much he signs elsewhere.

There is some interest in Hargrave on the trading block.

Sad about Jones, because he was great for blocking and for being a utilitarian RB/receiver on any given play. That said, he was seemingly always having to play through a lot of injuries.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

Not surprising. I think the only reason it's Hargrave and not Allen is because his contract is cheaper to get out of.

Hargrave is 33...Allen is 30. That may be one reason.

This. Allen's contract has so much more guaranteed money that they save only $6.5 million and take a $17 million dead cap hit dumping him.
