  OT: Watch your bank accounts....
Posted by: purplefaithful - 11-25-2017, 11:55 PM - Forum: The Longship - No Replies

My wife and kids account were both hacked in the last 3 days...

Bank cards shut-down. The algorithm caught one of the 2 attempts at $$.

With all of the breaches (and this time of year especially) watch the charges hitting your account - daily.

First packer game ever. Scored ok seats for $175. Do I wear my Dirty Harry jersey or bust out the purple Favre one and troll them hard? Think I’m going to pick up a packer flag or something to put on the car for parking.

  Lions player: "Refs Cheated Me"
Posted by: Maple Surple - 11-25-2017, 09:45 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (13)

Despite several replays that appeared to show Slay jumping early, he insists that the refs got the call wrong. The Lions star even went as far to say that the refs "cheated" him by calling him offside on the play

Spielman on pace for GM of the Year award:
Posted by: minny65 - 11-25-2017, 03:55 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (4)

Consistently rated one of the better GM's by peers and national pundits Spielman may have put together his best off-season since being named GM in 2012.

Spielman has had an outstanding offseason loading this
team with players and also depth. The coaching and results of the personnel
decisions Spelly has made puts Spielman in the position of GM of the year.
GM's primary job:

1 -  Free agents to resign and free agents to bring-in,
2 -  Draft
3 -  Extensions,
trades in and out of the draft.
4 -  Hiring HC

His
Free Agent signings of Reiff and Remmers, along with plucking Hill from the
Jags PS, have solidified the Tackle positions that were a disaster less then
a year ago. Then you add the 3rd round pick of Elflein and he has constructed
a one year fix (not done) to one of the worst OL we have ever had decimated
by injury.  That doesn't even include the trade for Easton our starting Guard for Hodges a few years ago or the acquisition of swing-man Sirles.

Move
up Drafting of Cook, who was leading the NFL in yards, in the second round
and also getting Elflein as a day one starter. Also getting some snaps from
other draftee's so looks to be a very good draft but one year is not the full
tape on the draft.

Not
extending Bradford and choosing Case over Heinike as a veteran backup QB has
been a great decision and find.

Lastly,
he has extended and locked in the foundation of a Top 3 defense for years to
come - Harry, Rhodes, Linval and Griffen all locked and loaded long-term.

Plus,
even though it was 5 years ago, you can see the improved coaching of Zimmer
and the depth of the roster and Spelly should get credit for hiring his first
HC.

I
say GM of the Year!!!!

Haven't seen this posted here but it's a very interesting read.  Pulled the link from another forum.

Vikings' odds to run the table:
Posted by: dadevike - 11-25-2017, 12:26 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (4)

Using FPI's numbers re how likely the Vikings are to win their games against Atlanta, Carolina, Cinci, GB, and Chicago, the FPI odds that the Vikings win them all is only about 9.4%.

FPI gives the Vikings less than 50% chance to win either against Atlanta or Carolina, both road games. And more likely to beat Atlanta than Carolina. It has us as very likely to beat Cinci, GB, and Chicago.

I agree that it is pretty unlikely we run the table. But how likely was it that we would be sitting at 9-2 when Sam was lost after week one?  Then after losing Cook in week 4?

Just need to let the refs know that we didn't break Rodgers intentionally. It just happened. GB is done. We now own the North. So stop trying to dictate outcomes and just call the game.

Falcons up next...another team fighting for their playoff lives...like the Ravens, their pass D is pretty good...they give up just over 200 yards in the air...they average about 3 sacks a game...And give up less explosive plays than we do...also like the Ravens, they are soft against the run...21st overall BUT they don't give up explosive runs...we'll need to grind on O...

Love that they are a dome team which plays to our benefit, particularly on the D side...Falcons O is averaging nearly 10 points less per game than their Super Bowl squad...they average 1.5 points less per game than we do and more importantly are -2 in turnovers...

I like this game despite the fact the Falcons are playing to remain tournament eligible...Sark and Ryan just aren't as effective together...we can run on this team and should see a lot of Murray and McKinnon...despite two of our last three defensive efforts being below our high standards, Zim's squad can put the clamp down on any offense at anytime...I see a road win coming off the mini bye and a thread title for the Panthers game that will boarder on a NC17 rating...
