Best signing of free agency

Nadkarni: I don’t think he’s the player he was five seasons ago, but I love the Los Angeles Rams’ adding Davante Adams on a two-year deal. The Rams are cooking a bit in general this offseason, bringing back quarterback Matthew Stafford to a team that nearly upset the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles last postseason.

Adams, a three-time All-Pro with the Packers and the Raiders, is a nice addition to a receiver room that also has Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell. What I like about this group for Los Angeles is the variety of styles these players play, and I would bet Adams has a bounce-back year with a competent organization and an offensive genius in coach Sean McVay. Stafford is also the best quarterback Adams has played with since he left Green Bay.

Greif: The Minnesota Vikings’ signing center Ryan Kelly and guard Will Fries. Vikings had a magical last season until their final two games, when pass-rush pressure by the Lions and the Rams completely wrecked one of the NFL’s better offenses.

Quarterback Sam Darnold’s struggles to counter the pressure may have sealed the team’s decision to move on and turn the offense over to second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy, but the team still needed to address its protection. It did that by signing Kelly and Fries, who played next to each other in Indianapolis.

The Vikings already had a strong depth chart returning from last season, and they added to it in free agency with defensive linemen Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave and other signings, but if McCarthy thrives in his first season as a starter, as the Vikings hope he will, their decision to shore up its line could be a major reason.

Rodgers is deciding if he even wants to play football this year at all. That's the hold up.

One player to keep an eye on in the Patriots' search for a new center: Garrett Bradbury.

The '19 first-round pick has been the Vikings' starter the last 6 years, but could soon be cut after MIN signed Ryan Kelly.

I want OG Tyler Booker with the #24 pick

6'5", 322 lbs. Bob Newhart could be successful behind this line and he's been dead since July: Darrisaw-Booker-Kelly-Fries-O'Neill.

You've transformed your offensive line into a juggernaut, making the interior questionable to terrifying in one offseason. Those are all big, athletic dudes that will be nastier than ever. With KAM killing it to improve what we all agree are the two most important parts of a football team, OL and DL, Booker pushes you into maybe elite territory where they impose their wills, plus he's good friends with JJM from high school. That gets you at the table with Detroit and Philadelphia. Its a little insane how much the Vikings have improved areas that needed it to move up a level.

JJ is going to feel like he's back at Michigan for that national title run team. And we know what he did with that opportunity. Draft a bigger RB with that 3rd round comp pick to complement AJ and who knows what can happen? I think you'll see an offense that will be truly unpredictable and can run when needed in a real way, that's when you'll see KOC pull away from teams in games instead of these close ones.
